Healing - One Step at a Time.

It feels good to be really busy, with a full plate of "life" in my hands - lately. A nice switch up to last year this time when I was falling apart from a serious injury. I kind of feel like my body went through this whole transition and now my business is going through this whole shift and change as I grow more into my astrological consulting work and teaching healing and creating my two new websites.

Thank God for healing, astrology, love and patience ~ things that I try to embody and utilize as much

as I can.

~ I do believe that the healing to most of our woes comes in time. By loving each and every step of whatever transition you are going through. Never stop trying to *get better*, focusing on the positive and of course for me, Reiki. ~ (Some people prefer prayers or just thinking positive, to Reiki. - I do believe that element of at least an "energetic thought" of healing has to be in the mix.)

When you come to appreciate all the little steps of healing
you start move through whatever transition you are doing through. - Without the anxiety and stress that often comes along with all of that which just multiplies the troubles you are dealing with. Astrology fits in by helping me understand what energies are present for me at any given time. This way I know when it's a day (or time period) that I need to just take care of me. It might even be a time period I need to let the creative energies loose or forge ahead with ideas. - It is such a beautiful tool for anyone that wants to understand the intricate workings of their life.

So what a beautiful lesson my injury last year taught me -- love me, take care of me, be gentle with me. - Everything else that is important to you, is still important - but you are #1 --- and EVERYONE SHOULD say that about themselves.

Breathing in love, exhaling all the negative energy, pain, energy junk.

Health starts FIRST -- with the desire to be healthy, and then taking steps to get as healthy as possible. - No it isn't possible for us to revert time and go back to the past and before whatever afflictions affect us -- but WE CAN make the best of what we have, and grow from there. ~ Trust me, I have done this many times over in this lifetime, physically, emotionally, even spiritually. - So I speak from my personal experience - which I think is what helps me to be helpful to others on their healing paths.

If there is something you think that I might be able to assist you with, on your path of healing - I am a Reiki Educator, Professional Astrological Consultant, And I study and use the energies of Gemstones in my work --- just let me know.

I am happy to walk with you on that path of healing!
Wishing everyone health and patience with ones selves ~

Letting Go.

Letting Go.

It is easy to let something go.

Sometimes we feel it is very difficult to let things go. We hold on to it (whatever "it" is) because of some emotional attachment we have to it.

I would like you to think of the things that you have let go of already in your life, even things that you didn’t necessarily want to let go of. I know we have all let go of many things, things such as - anxiety, fear, past relationships, resentment, negative thought patterns, jobs we disliked, bad habits, depression, stress, emotional connections, friendships and businesses – even old ways of thinking.

You did it - many of, if not all of those types of things you let go in the past, and you know what?

You can do it again.

The choice to stay attached to something that is unhealthy for our Spirit, body or emotions is just that – an attachment.

At any point in time, you can say to yourself – I let *this* go

And that is it!

Now this doesn’t mean that you are going to love the choice of letting go of a bad habit or an unhealthy relationship. Remember when we live our lives in an intellectual manor – rather than attached to unhealthy emotions about something not good for us – then we are living in a truthful and loving manor to ourselves

Know that it is a choice. We can choose to let go of something - in the most loving and kind way that we can sort out, or we can create a lot of other negative emotions such as worry or stress or anger when letting go – that too is a choice.

It is also true that when we let go of things that are not of our highest good – then we really are opening a space up in our lives for something that is. Funnily enough that new thing could even be that the very thing you are letting go of.

Sometimes what you release turns out to be what you need, in which case it will come back to you.

For instance owning your own business and feeling you are charging too much for your service - then you let go of that idea and realize you are really not charging enough. So you raise your prices and wind up selling more things than before - why you ask? Because people feel that energy and respect you have for yourself to ask for what you are worth! Holding on to limiting ideas, is a perfect example of that.

So is holding on to an unhealthy relationship. If you let go of an unhealthy relationship/friendship then the friend understands - wow I really shouldn't have been uncaring, insensitive, mean, or unloving to this person. Then before you know it your friend or loved one changes their attitude towards you and apologizes. Now I am not saying this always happens, but if it is meant to be - it will.

You really never know what the Universe has in store for you once you let go of something unhealthy for you!

If our time is filled working a job that we really dislike, being in a relationship that is unhealthy or having a friend that is draining – we are allowing our valuable time and valuable energy to be spent on these things, when we could choose to just – let go –.

So what - if you have to spend some time with yourself, I know being alone is a fear that many people have. Use that time to figure out what really would make you feel happy, fulfilled or loved. In fact I would suggest that we do that anyhow from time to time.

Spend the day just with you, pampering you, allowing you to feel good, happy, healthy and loved by YOU.

When you exhibit love for yourself, you are creating the energy of being in love with yourself. I don't mean this in a narcissistic manor, but a healthy manor and you therefore are attracting other things, people, jobs, situations - etc that are also on the same energy pattern as you.

So today -- I am choosing -- and I am letting go of all things that are not healthy for my Spirit.

How about you?

Be Yourself!

Here is to being the only person you are really able to be - YOURSELF.

When you get clear on who you are, and you know that is your truth - then you are able to finally allow your inner self to radiate outward in your outer world. If you do not yet know who YOU are, then why not do some digging and try to figure that out?

I can hear some people thinking - how do I sort out who I am? Well first you have to be really honest with yourself. You can do that by truly asking your self - does this that I am doing, working with, connecting with or otherwise, resonate with who I am? For instance you might have an addiction to say coffee or sugar - and everytime you eat it, you feel icky for doing so. If that is the case, then coffee or sugar is probably not who you truly are. I know we all get addicted to things, it is the nature of being human but we really do not need to be. We can ask ourselves, and not our minds, but our hearts and higher self - does this (insert thing, addiction, person etc.) really make me feel good? Is is helping me in some way? Is it hindering me some way?

Self examination is a difficult thing for most people, I understand that. It is not always easy to look at my own self, but I can tell you through experience when taking an unemotional, no-mind, heartfelt approach to my life - I have come to great conclusions about myself and how I can better myself by letting go of something that does not serve my highest spirit and that in itself is pretty powerful. Stepping into the space that you do not need to be anything someone else wants you to be - but who YOU want you to be, releasing the things we are addicted to - allows you to be the real you.

Don't be afraid to set boundaries and tell people no, if something doesn't resonate with you - it is that simple - no. If you feel pressured to do something you do not want to, saying no is the healthiest thing for everyone involved and it helps you to feel empowered. You do not have to say no in an angry or negative way, being loving and kind (if that is who you are) is perfectly acceptable in saying no to someone.

Also do not be afraid to march to the beat of your own drum or blaze your own path ~ there is a lot to be said for the person that does that and truly knows who they are on the inside!

I am me, honest, loving and happy - who are you?!

Something to ponder over. :)

Expect Nothing, Appreciate Everything.

Expect Nothing, Appreciate Everything.

I wanted to share this thought with all of you today. It is something I have kept in my own heart and gently reminded myself of throughout my life.

When we have a simple appreciation for everything in life, from the most major of things to the silliest of things - then we are in a state of bliss.

Even when we are going through the "crap" that life always seems to throw at us... - By learning to find the appreciation for it while you are going through it. That is how we keep feeling that bliss, no matter what stuff is going on around us.

By finding that still quiet side of ourselves (that may be a small part right now) but is in everyone one of our hearts - knowing that nothing. Yes - nothing - can truly allow you to move into a space that is not of love --- UNLESS --- you allow it to - that is when we feel the bliss.

For an example, and I am sure many of you reading this have experienced something similar in your own lives...

How many times in life have you had an experience that just seemed awful to go through? Then when you reflected on it in the future, you found hidden blessings that came from that experience? I know for me - I can tell you many stories of things happening in my own life that when I finished going through all of it - I reflected and was actually grateful for the experience. Typically when I reflect on a "bad experience", I find some new appreciation or really just feel like, wow, that whole experience is such a blessings because out of it came something wonderful.

I think the trick to this is to be in that state of appreciation and not feel upset or angry or annoyed or any of the other myriad of emotions that come from the ego while going through the negative experience. Just accept all of the stuff that we have to go through, finding that still quiet place and being anchored in that, in your heart - that is the trick to really feeling blissful in your life!

I know this doesn't usually happen for people - in an instant - but why can't it?

Why can't you just say to yourself - I am done with the drama, anger, judgement, frustration etc etc, and I am flipping the page and starting a new chapter. It really is that simple. When you slice and dice it all up, if you decide to let go of those fearful feelings, those judgements, those things weighing you down  - there really is a moment in time that you simply have to let it go.

Why not let that moment in time be right now?

So why not set a conscious decision for yourself - RIGHT NOW - and get centered in your heart and not let all the perceived problems of the world bog YOU down. That is what really happens when we let the lower side of us take over, we get bogged down and feel bad, or get sick, or whatever negative stuff that happens around us. If you just allow all that stuff to happen, kind of like a movie, and do not engage in the drama of it all, then you start to awaken into this feeling of bliss, this feeling of non-attachment and letting go - it is quite a peaceful place!

When we are in this space of love and appreciation for everything around us, even the crap - our attitudes change, a softening occurs and our hearts open wider allowing the love to flow in and radiates outward.

Many people are searching for that *true love* but have neglected to find that true love for themselves and their surroundings. Therefor they are unable to simply radiate love to find love, or get hooked up in relationships that are destructive because essentially when we let the lower side of ourselves be in control - that is what happens.

Appreciating the love and the negativity - all of it - and not expecting anything other then appreciation and love to flow into your heart - allows us to feel the bliss that comes from being in this state of appreciation.

I know, it seems hard, but it really isn't - it is a choice, we can choose to be blissful through the crap, or we can hold on to that which is all unreal anyway, the lower - ego side of ourselves.

Now, let me be the first to tell you, all this I am speaking is straight from my own experiences and understanding of life in general. I am no saint when it comes to this, but I work on myself continually. I get that we are human beings, we have egos - we will until we die, but we can choose to let the ego side of ourselves be in control - or we can choose to allow ourselves to be happy, blissful and peaceful at any given time. The more that you practice this sort of behavior, the easier it becomes!

Just some pondering's for your morning, afternoon, day or night!

Spider Webs

Have you ever watched a spider spin its web?

I have.

It is an extraordinary thing to stand somewhere and just watch as the little guy (or girl) spins its web and creates such an intricate piece of art that it uses to live on and feed from.

To the spider, this web is utilitarian ~ and necessary to be able to sustain itself by catching other insects in it and laying its eggs and spawning other spiders. To some humans, spiders are a nuisance and we tare down their homes and make our surroundings more "beautiful".

To me, I think spiders can teach us a thing or two about allowing our creative spirit to just flow and sustain us because unless we are living our passion, then our work isn't usually our passion. Sometimes the passion that comes out isn't work for us even, rather just passion, in some creative way.

Much like the spider probably does not realize that it is creating art to sustain itself - we as the creative spirits that we are, do that through our own inspiration, play and work. Now you might be thinking, well what is so artistic about an accountant - ask someone that doesn't know the magic of numbers and you will find out.

We all have our niche, our web, our own unique and beautiful way of expressing ourselves and I believe it is up to us to find out what that is and get creating our own web!

Love wishes to be known, completely understood and shared. It has no secrets; nothing that it would keep apart and hide. It walks in sunlight, open-eyed and calm, in smiling welcome and sincerity so simple and so obvious it cannot be misunderstood. ~ACIM 20 VI 3

Intertwined

Letting go of any emotion that is not of LOVE and replacing it with LOVE - is such a healing place.

Sometimes those emotions that are not of love are old hurts, pains, trauma or a myriad of other things. Even if the hurt is causing you physical or emotional pain at the time ~ lovingly ~ reminding yourself in a loving and gentle way, that love is what is real and what will help us overcome any unloving feeling --- and that is when the peace comes in.

Keeping clear in our hearts that forgiveness really begins with just the thought of being forgiving - and that truly is all that is needed to allow the LOVE and PEACE to come in!

Releasing, forgiving, peace and love - and remembering WE are all intertwined with one another, like trunk of a beautiful ficus tree - so when we LOVE, FORGIVE and are at PEACE - then that is what we radiate out into the world! <3 br="br">

Wishing you a moment of LOVE ~ Starlene Breiter

Infinity

I love how the Universe operates.

When you release something that has worn out its use, you learned all the lessons you could from it - whatever it is. You are left wide open to infinite possibilities and are given many beautiful prospects
right in front of yourself.

It is always important to take inventory of things we have around us, including physical things, like clothes, unwanted furniture, old thought patterns, old relationships that have run their course, lingering fears or doubts -- and goodness known what else we have "stashed away" - skeletons in the closet...~ and astrology helps us to understand those patterns and the infinity that is part of all of us.

If it serves no purpose anymore, bless it, thank it - and give it away - out with the old - just wait for the new, it is coming - you will see!

What a profound thought, I mean - really - stop for just a moment, stop the madness, the repeating thoughts, over and over and over - and just be for a moment.

That's it...

Just BE.

When you return - ask yourself - What other areas of the madness am I missing, really take the ego out of it and look at it from the space of ultimate, pure LOVE.

Now, what do you see?

Nothing but LOVE, FORGIVENESS, ONENESS and that = Peace.

Do you feel it?

I know - I do.... ~Starlene Breiter ♥

Gimmmee the Pink fuzzies!! ~~ Awwh Yeah! ;)

Ok, I am going to play with the energy of Jupiter & Venus in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces here,, and tell you all about a term coined by a good friend (and AMAZING astrologer) of mine, Mark Metheny when we were talking about Neptune on my radio show.

He inspired me to write this blog..

So what the heck is a pink fuzzy anyhow??
It might be easier to describe what it isn't first ----
One of my favorite things to do when I feel devoid of that natural sparkle IE. (pink fuzzies) that I normally radiate is ~ I first acknowledge what is keeping the *sparkles* away. If it happens to be something I can act on - then I get moving ASAP, but if its something that I really can't do anything about. Then, first - I honor my feelings, (this is really important to me, to acknowledge my feelings) and I take a step back from those devoid-ed sparkles. Then - I surround myself with something that makes me feel gOoD.

In acknowledging my feelings I am allowing myself to honor my human nature and the feelings and emotions we all go through - BUT - I am not allowing them to engulf me in an unnatural or unhealthy manor. By surrounding myself with things that make me feel GoOd -- I am allowing myself to take away the typical *mind chatter* that is up in my head, keeping the sparkles away,, and in that I am essentially inviting the sparkles to come back in and have some FUN! ~~ Because I don't know about you, but when I direct my mind to something I REALLY LOVE, then I can't help but feel sparkles back in my life!

Sometimes that gOoD thing is a fun, light, happy conversation with a good friend -- reading an uplifting book -- doing yoga -- inspiring myself by reading quotes that uplift my mood -- looking at art by some of my favorite artists, or new artists -- writing something inspiring (like this!) -- creating something with my hands -- working out -- a lot of the time for me its good funky music -- or a drive around South Florida in my convertible... It really depends on my mood on what I might use to help me find the sparkles again, but it never takes me long to find them again!

I know we all get in our moods - its part of the ebb and flow of life, no one is perfectly happy and content all the time. - Think of it this way, if it were the case that we were perfectly content all the time, then we wouldn't really know what perfectly content is! I actually like to honor that ebb part of the cycle, by allowing myself to deal with situations that may arise and how I can use my intelligence, and guidance from Spirit to work through those situation.

So this I leave you with ~ make a list of things that you like to do when you feel inspired. I shared a bit of my list with all of you in this article, use that as a starting point - but make one that inspires YOU.. And next time you are feeling devoid of those *sparkles* (or whatever you want to refer to your happy side as) - break out the list and GET MOVING!

Key word here is GET MOVING - don't allow stagnation to take place because that can be your worst sparkle devoid mechanism! Especially for us super fixed people like myself - I am speaking from experience here!

Love, ((huggles)) and lots of pink-fuzzy-sparkles!

Listen to Your Own Inner Guidance

Listen to Your Own Inner Guidance

Let's think about our own inner guidance and the wisdom that comes from Spirit. One of the things that I have learned to do is trust my own intuition as no one can know what is good for me better than I know myself. Trusting my inner guidance and intuition is something that often gets better or easier with practice. And once you get it down, you feel safe and stable in life.

Think about all the different things that you do in your life, one of those things could be going to college and getting a degree in business because that's what your father and grandfather did. So when you graduated high school, you decided to go to college because that's what you were "supposed to" do. When you realize that it's not college, or even business - that you really want to do. What you really want to do is play sports, become a farmer, go to ballet school and on and on.

Now think to yourself, where does that idea of what were "supposed to" do come from? Sometimes it comes from our parents. Sometimes it comes from our friends. Sometimes it comes from feeling like we aren't good enough because we compare ourselves to an older sibling who is really smart or something along those lines. Sometimes it even comes from what you feel society wants you to do. So, despite not listening to your own inner guidance here, you end up doing what you don't want to do and find yourself down the road unhappy and not really understanding why or how to get out of that unhappy feeling.

Of course you can't go back and change the past, but you can live in the now and trust your own inner guidance to make decisions based on what you feel is right for your self - and not what others feel is right for you.

Sometimes this takes a little soul-searching, and that's okay!

Do yourself a favor and get in tune with your inner self. One of the ways you can do that is by having "quiet time" every day to just be with you. You can do this through meditation, and you can do this just by sitting quietly and thinking about your life and what makes you feel fulfilled. Daydream that you are living your life that you want to live.

Most importantly it's imperative to make YOU important to yourself. Listen to what your inner heart is telling you, that inner heart and Spirit I am talking about ~ is your connection to Spirit or God, or whatever name you call that Spiritual Oneness that is all of us. Once you listen to your inner heart, take steps to be - or do - what your inner heart is telling you to be, or do. Always remember that the first step is listening to your inner guidance then the second step is putting action towards that inner guidance, and the third step is getting yourself out of the way & trusting that inner guidance!

Once you start to work on yourself, and listen to your own inner guidance, little by little, you'll realize that it's actually easy to put you in high rankings of important people in your life!

It's my opinion that if you don't take care of yourself first and you are healthy in mind, body and spirit - then you can't really help other people. So many people, when you tell them to take time out for themselves have the excuse of - I don't have time because I'm busy helping other people - well if you first take care of yourself before moving on to other people then you have no excuses of not having time. If you can't give yourself the time to be quiet and listen to your own inner guidance, then that's okay too, just know that you might not be living to the highest potential that you could be.

So today take some time out to listen to your own inner guidance and follow your heart to an inspired and beautiful life!

My Business Is Prosperous

My Business Is Prosperous

I got the inspiration for today's blog from a little affirmation card that came from one of Louise Hay's affirmation decks. I love the simplicity of the message but at the same time you can take it to many levels and apply it to your life in general.

So the affirmation on the card goes like this:

My Business is Prosperous

I rejoice in other people's successes because I know there is plenty for everyone.

What comes to my mind after the initial warm fuzzy feeling I get after reading the card is:

The thoughts that we put our focus on.
In my last blog, I spoke about keeping your thoughts on the positive side of things and manifesting yourself prosperity. This takes it to another level, a level outside yourself. Because, sure, that affirmation works for me ----> And it works for YOU too!

It has been my experience through social networking websites and getting myself out there through my radio show, my websites, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Blogger, etc... Whatever sort of venue that I put myself on to meet others.

A simple rule is: the more I connect, network and communicate with other successful people ---- the more successful I become.

I think a lot of this has to do with how confident and positive you really feel about yourself.

I can tell you, I have a girlfriend that I have known for a million (in internet time) years... and she and I both make jewelery, we both pretty much started to sell our jewelery in our businesses at the same time. Through our connecting with others, and us helping one another out with ideas, brainstorming, positive reinforcement or just being there for the other - BOTH of our jewelery businesses are thriving and we BOTH have more clients all the time because of this. The whole worry about someone "taking" your business - has no place in an attitude that says we rejoice in other's successes --- because if you start to think like that. You will look for reasons to feel like that, and therefore create a moment of seeing that.

I could give you a good example of what I mean here.

So my girlfriend (I am gonna pimp her store out at the end of this blog too) Sloan is her name, she and I have our little Facebook pages of our shops on Facebook and someone that has been a client of mine sees her page and meets her. Then my client buys something from her too...

Now I could look at that two different ways. I could think to myself (which I totally don't)
"Wow, that client of mine went to Sloan and could have bought something from me - I lost a sale."
:(

Or

I could look at it like this (which is often how the story goes)...
"Wow, that client of mine went to Sloan and got something from her -- oh and it was that garnet ring I was eyeballing!! Lucky girls, they both are, I am glad they connected with one another!"
:)

"...Oh and, look ---- one of Sloan's clients just bought something from ME!"

See, it is your perception in the whole idea of this scene I just shared with you. I think that Sloan's client would have probably bought something from me either way --- I really think when people shop they feel a connection to a certain thing, or they don't --- so it is not about you or someone else as much as it is about what the shopper is looking for. Besides - there is no room for "loosing a sale" because before you know it --- The Universe pays you back!

Now I do want to point out that perception is an energy, its an energy of thought. If you are perceiving the world in a worry, fear, loss, stressful way. Then quite simply, that is what you are going to see. If you perceive the world as an abundant place for many people to be prosperous, and lots of prosperity for all, then quite simply - that is what you are going to see --- and --- therefore ---- BECOME!

So ask yourself next time you see someone succeeding at what they do (or even at what you do too) How can I pat that person on the back and congratulate them? And how can I allow that happy energy for another inspire me to be the great and inspiring person that - I AM?!

See, it goes right back to having that inner confidence!

Instead of spending your energy in a negative or worrisome way - maybe look for a buddy that you can connect with, and continue your journey of prosperity with!

Thanks Sloan's ~ My sweet and ever LOVED Spirit~Sister,,, for allowing me to share a little of ourselves with others. I get lots of business questions, and although I am not a business advisor - I can see many principles that you and I naturally do, could help just about anyone in their work!

So check out Sloan's ~ Celtic Crossing Etsy Shop
And of course Fan her page on Facebook!

Money, Money, Money!!!

Want to know how to make more money, be more prosperous and feel worthy? There are a couple simple steps to get you moving in that direction --- read on to learn how simple it truly is!

----------------------------------------------------------

Of course the title of this blog caught your eye, most of us are looking to have more money in our lives! Have you ever read anything by T. Harv Elker? He is a wonderful author that is inspiring and helpful in teaching one to use those inspirations. One of this thought's and ideas that I love I wanted to share with all of you here...

Decide you're worthy.

If you say you're worthy, you are. If you say you're not worthy, you're not.

Either way you'll grow into your story.

I liked this thought for several reasons. I find that a lot of people that come to me for intuitive readings or guidance are stuck in this rut of feeling they are not good enough or they are not worthy of things, whether that be success, money, happiness, love or whatever. Some people have even said to me, how do you do it? How do I make myself worthy?

Well for one I start off with saying it, even if you don'™t believe it at first, say it! Affirmations are funny like that, we don't usually believe them at first or well, quite frankly, we wouldn't need them in the first place if we did, right?'

So say it, keep saying it.

I am worthy.

Then you start to do the things that make you feel confident and secure in what you are worthy of. If you want to be worthy of success you need to start taking a stand and believing in yourself. To be quite blunt and truthful no one is going to do it for you, so if you choose to be worthy then you are. If you choose not to be then you won'™t be.

Make good choices, because whatever you chose to be - you are.

I choose to be worthy, how about you?

((hugs))

Organized Chaos Jewelery Line

One of the things that has kept me busy this past year is that I have created a jewelery line called Organized Chaos Jewelery. It is really beautiful and all the pieces are one of a kind. Mostly they are made of gemstones, crystals and wire wrapped stones. You just have to see them to understand them!

I really love how each piece turns out, and I feel the energy of them in my hands... Take a peek at my page of Organized Chaos Jewelery and let me know if I can make YOU a piece for yourself!

Some Centering and Grounding Techniques for Reiki practitioners

Grounding Techniques for Reiki Practitioners -

This should be done before you start a Reiki treatment in order to ground your energy to the earth's energy field, which will further prevent your energies from "flying" off, so to speak. If you find that you are "floating", or feel "tired", "headachy" or "spinney" after a Reiki session, it usually indicates that you were not fully grounded beforehand.

Tree Root Method:

1. Sit comfortably on a chair or you can also do this standing

2. Close your eyes, take 3-deep belly breaths and relax

3. Your intention and focus is to visualize tree roots spreading from your root chakra (the base of your spine or buttocks) down through the soles of your feet and continuing to the centre of the earth

4. See the tree roots spreading out in all directions, attaching themselves to the earth's centre

5. Feel and know that you are grounded firmly to earth energies

Cleansing - This is especially important to do after each Reiki treatment in order to disconnect your energy from your client's (this is done apart from washing your hands after each treatment). Cleansing can also be done during the day, as needed, especially if you are out in crowds - monitor your feelings and thoughts for negative changes to your overall well-being.

Dry Brush Method

1. From a standing position, use the palms of both hands to gently brush or dust yourself off starting from the top of your head and working down to your feet

2. Your intention and focus is to feel and know that you are cleansed from all debris, toxins, impurities, energy blockages or lower vibrating energies (also called negative energy)

3. Feel and know that these will flow to the centre of the earth to be transformed into higher, finer vibrating energy that will be re-used by the universe at the appropriate time

Waterfall/Shower Method

1. Sit comfortably on a chair or you can also do this standing

2. Close your eyes, take 3-deep belly breaths and relax

3. Visualize standing under a waterfall or shower (this can be clear, a specific colour or a rainbow)

4. Your intention and focus is to feel and know that the water is washing and cleansing away all energy blockages, all lower vibrating energy, plus all toxins and impurities from your body. Know that these will flow to the centre of the earth to be transformed into higher, finer vibrating energy (also called positive energy) that will be re-used by the universe at the appropriate time

5. You can cleanse several times per day if you feel that you have absorbed outside energies (E.g. you may start to feel a headache, or your energy may feel drained or you may become irritable or uneasy, etc.)

Protection - This helps to separate your energy from your surrounding environment or from the energies of others. After giving a Reiki treatment, make a habit of putting your client in a soothing, protective bubble of colour to induce further relaxation, protection and healing.

Bubble of Color

1. Close your eyes, take 3-deep belly breaths and relax

2. Visualize surrounding yourself in a bubble of color - any color that you are attracted to use; don't be concerned about the significance of the color's meaning

3. Visualize surrounding the other person in a different bubble of color

4. This separates your energy from the other person

5. Know and feel that you are always protected from outside lower vibrating energies (also called negative energies)

Many deep breathing techniques are influenced by martial art teachings and if you recall, Mikao Usui sensei was an expert aiki jutsu martial artist; therefore he would have utilized this knowledge and skill to strengthen and maintain his energy state while practicing Reiki.

Other benefits for practicing deep breathing are that it helps reduce stress levels by lowering your heart rate, blood flow and the amount of adrenaline produced during your "fight or flight" mode. You become calmer, less agitated and more focused with increased clarity as your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies become aligned and balanced.

Change Your Regular Breathing Pattern - most of us are used to breathing in quick short breaths from our chest, otherwise known as shallow breathing. But you can actually control and protect your energy level through conscious awareness in which you take deeper slower breaths. It takes time to change from old habits, but once mastered, you can then consciously move or circulate Ki or energy throughout your body at all times.

1. With your inhalation, slowly push your stomach out and then pull the air up into your diaphragm, hold for a moment

2. On your exhalation, slowly push the air down from your diaphragm and then contract your stomach inward toward the small of your back

3. Continue breathing like this slowly and rhythmically

4. Your goal is to adapt this method of breathing as your new, regular breathing pattern

Usui Reiki Principles

These are the Usui Reiki principles as taught by Dr Miako Usui.

The original Japanese Principles/Affirmations

The Secret Method of Inviting Blessings
The Spiritual Medicine of Many Illnesses

For today only, do not anger, do not worry.
Do your work (meditation) with appreciation.
Be kind to all people.

In the morning and at night with hands held in prayer, think this in your mind, chant this with your mouth.

The Usui Reiki method is to change your mind and body for the better.

The Western style versions of the Principles/Affirmations have adopted the following format.

They have been “Westernized” to be better understood but still have tremendous value.

Just for today, I will not anger.
Just for today, I will let go of worry.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
Just for today, I will honor my teachers.
